Last night, it was announced that Alice Munro is the winner of the 2009 Man Booker International Prize. The prize is awarded once every two years to a living author for a body of work that has contributed to an achievement in fiction on the world stage. She will be presented with a trophy and a check for £60,000 at a ceremony at Trinity College in Dublin on June 25th.
Munro’s latest collection of short stories, Too Much Happiness, will be published this November.
