Deeply moving and resonant with my own experience of traumatic loss. I am the author of Trauma and Human Existence: Autobiographical, Psychoanalytic, and Philosophical Reflections (Routledge, 2007). I would like to dialogue with you someday.
Dear Ms. Didion:
Your work has reignited my love of literature, so thank you.
Please accept my condolences.
Having lost many too and after spending too much time in ICU waiting rooms, your writing brings to mind my wish to place some form of comfort to those who travel through those ICU waiting rooms too. It seems impossible, but I wish that there were a way to leave some comfort to all of those who will similarly suffer. If you have any ideas, feel free to share them with me or to implement them on your own. For now, prayer is my only recourse.
Kindest regards, Erin
